Safety guidelines

Most employers on WorkGY are genuine, verified Guyanese organisations. These rules keep it that way — and keep you safe if something looks off.

Never pay to get a job

A legitimate employer will never ask you for money for an interview, uniform, training kit, police clearance, or a 'processing fee'.

If a request for payment appears at any stage, stop and report the listing.

Protect your documents

Do not send bank details, card numbers, or your full national ID scan before you have a signed offer.

Share your resume through WorkGY so there is a record of who received it.

Check the employer

Open the employer profile and look for the verified badge, a real head office location and other live roles.

Be cautious with vague company names, free email addresses, and interviews that only happen over chat apps.

Meeting in person

Interviews should take place at a business address or a public place during daylight hours.

Tell a family member or friend where you are going and when you expect to be back.

Reporting a problem

Use the Report button on any job listing, or email hello@workgy.gy with the job link.

Our moderation team reviews every report, and we suspend accounts that break these rules.

For employers

Do not request sensitive personal data before an offer stage, and keep applicant information confidential.

Post accurate pay and location details — misleading adverts are removed.
